How to Grow Squash

The Table Queen Acorn Squash is a customer favorite winter squash. This variety is a medium sized, acorn shaped, vining type. The flesh of this heirloom acorn is a sweet golden yellow that turns more orange in storage, contrasting with its dark green and ribbed rind. Harvest before frost, leaving part of the stem attached to the fruit. Organic certified.

The little Table King Bush Squash is a nice compact winter squash variety that is perfect for a small home garden! This 2 pound fruit is excellent for baking, stuffing or roasting. Black Beauty Zucchini is a standard zucchini. This vigorous plant produces dark green glossy fruits that tapers towards each end. This zucchini is a very popular variety of summer squash. Just like in its name, the Early Butternut is the earliest butternut on the market! This award-winning variety produces excellent yields of medium-sized fruits that are tan in color and have a blocky shape, with a sweet, dark orange flesh. The Early Butternut is highly uniform and well suited for fresh market growing, as well as home growing.

Atlas hybrid butternut offers high yields of uniformly-sized and shaped fruit for market growers. Atlas matures in 110 days making it a mid-maturing squash. This plant has strong plant vigor and short vines. The fruit color is cream with dark orange flesh. This winter squash has a cylindrical shape with a slight bulb, making it ideal for processing.

The Long Island Cheese Squash got its name by resembling a large wheel of cheese and has been a favorite since the 1800s! This dark orange, ribbed winter squash can weigh 6-12 pounds. The Long Island Cheese has a sweet delicate flavor that is perfect for pies and other sweet baked treats. This squash will keep up to 6 months in storage.

The Italian Cocozelle is a bush type of squash plant that produces high yields of the long, tender, dark green fruits. This Italian zucchini is very flavorful and tender and a favorite that is now available in organic seeds. This variety is best when harvested at 12" long or smaller. The Cocozelle is excellent for slicing, frying, and steaming and is also a good freezing and canning variety. Pick often when the squash is young to prolong harvest. The Goldetti F1 Squash is a cylindrical golden orange winter squash variety with a dry stringy flesh resembling long, thin pasta. These 11 inch long squashes are ready to harvest when the skin becomes hardened and will keep for up to six months. The Goldetti is a wonderful pasta substitute and is best prepared whole in the microwave or baked.

The Blue Hubbard Squash is a beautiful variety that is known for it's delicious taste and big size! This variety is slightly tapered at both ends and has a bumpy, blue outside, hence its name.
