Seed Starting

Giving your seeds the very best chance to germinate and develop healthy foliage is an important first step. Most seeds should be started indoors before the last frost date in spring. Using these supplies will give you a good start to the garden season.

Makes large soil blocks that can be used to transplant medium soil blocks! The hand held single soil blocker is easy to use and eco-friendly. Moisten soil mix, push block maker down, turn, squeeze, and lift. Set filled block maker into a tray and release. Makes one huge 4" block with a 2" square dibble to receive medium size soil blocks. Great for larger plants like tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, melons, and cucumbers, and for late transplanting.

The Maxi 1 is the largest of the Soil Blockers. It produces one 4" blocks, with a square indentation. This indentation is suitable for transplanting a Mini 4 or Multi 12 block, for larger plants that need that extra space to grow. Blocks measure: 4" x 4" x 4"

Square Fertilpots (4"L x 4"W x 7" D) are biodegradable wood fiber pots composed primarily of Spruce (Picea Abies) fibers and are manufactured without the use of glues or binders. These are not peat pots! Fertilpots are truly biodegradable and are intended to be planted directly in the ground or the next larger container. Unlike rice-hull pots, starch-based polymers, or 'biodegradable' plastics, Fertilpots do not require a composting situation to degrade. Because water, air, and roots will penetrate the walls of the fertilpot so easily, there is no need for drainage holes.
