Fringe Tree

In late spring, white fringe tree disappears under fluffy clouds of fragrant, fringe-like flowers. Its compact size suits small yards, cottage gardens, patios, and street plantings. Female trees follow with dark blue fruits that songbirds eagerly eat in late summer. Urban conditions and clay soils are no problem for this adaptable native. Fringe tree seed has a double dormancy, so expect it to take two growing seasons before seedlings appear.
