Yucca
Rosettes of evergreen, sword-shaped leaves give Adam's needle yucca a bold, architectural presence. Each summer, tall spikes rise above the foliage, carrying dramatic clusters of creamy white, bell-shaped flowers. Once established, it is extremely drought tolerant and thrives in sunny rock gardens, dry slopes, and containers. Deep roots help hold lean, sandy soil in place. Yucca seed is easy to start in warm conditions without special pretreatment, and seedlings slowly build into the familiar spiky rosette.
