Shop and grow herb seeds and plants for home gardens. Urban Farmer has trialed several herb varieties to find the highest quality plants. Our herb seeds have high yields, easy to grow, and have great flavor.

Greenwood, also call Little Wood, is an heirloom fire cured tobacco that has been used for chew, a cigar filler and wrapper, and as a blend for cigarettes. It grows 5' to 6' tall. It produces 16-18 harvestable leaves averaging 14"-16" wide and 24" long which ripen 2-3 weeks after booming begins.

Mohawk Rustica is native to Central America as was widely cultivated by Native Americans and grown through out the southern US. It grows to 3' in height and is similar to Aztec, but with less branching. The leaves are thick, dark green in color and are among the largest of any Rustica variety. The flowers are a bright yellow and are densely packed. Mohawk is very high in nicotine content.

Golden Burley is a medium flavored Burley with excellent curability. The leaves grow up to 30" long by 12" wide, and turn a bright lemon yellow when ripe. Plants grow 5 to 6 feet in height with little to no suckering. Matures in 60-65 days after transplant. Air cures to a light buck skin brown color. The smoke is flavorful, yet mild. Requires less aging time than most Burleys.

The American 14 Tobacco is Bright Leaf tobacco variety that is imported from Ukraine that will produce 30 leaves per plant. This variety is a tall plant reaching 6' or more in height and is drought tolerant and sunburn resistant. Each American 14 leaf can reach 30" long and 15" wide.

Virginia Bright Leaf is an heirloom variety dating back many decades. It averages 6' in height with 18-20 leaves per plant below the crows foot. It reaches maturity when blooms appear at 55 days. The light green leaves average 12" wide by 24" long and become a light yellow/green when ripe. Leaves began to ripen as the plant reaches bloom. Air cures easily to a light golden brown with yields averaging 3 oz of dried leaf per plant.

Fast growing tobacco that is great for very short growing seasons. It can be planted out earlier than many other tobaccos and mature plants are frost tolerant. It is mild to smoke but has a high nicotine content.

Fast growing, early maturing tobacco plant. Matures to about 4-5 feet in height and has thick, waxy, dark green leaves.

Harrow Velvet is a medium flavored Burley with excellent curability and a short aging time. It has a columnar plant form with tightly spaced leaves which are very uniform in size. Almost no suckering. Leaves grow to 24" inches long by 14" wide when mature. Will go from green to golden yellow when fully mature. Leaf cures to a medium buckskin brown. An excellent plant for priming or to cut and hang whole. Very good wind resistance.

KY15 is a white stemmed high yielding Kentucky Burley. It has multiple disease resistance with excellent yield potential. Forms a plant with closely packed leaves with almost no suckers. Leaves turn yellow as they ripen, curling down around the edges. Excellent for curing and hanging stalks. The leaves dry to a light orange brown. Highly resistant to tobacco mosaic virus, wild-fire, and black root rot. Medium to high resistance to Fusarium wilt and tolerance to TEV.

This plant produces a deep dark heirloom tobacco that gives good weight. This is a tobacco prized by growers because it provides a great wrapper tobacco, a rich flavored pipe tobacco, or a premium snuff tobacco when ripe. It grows to 4-5 feet in height. The leaves grow up to 30 inches in length and 16 inches in width and are often fire cured.

Florida Sumatra is an heirloom tobacco that makes an excellent cigar wrapper when shade grown. It grows to 6 feet in height with leaves averaging 24 inches long and 15 inches wide.

Bursa is one of the largest and heaviest producing varieties of Turkish tobacco, growing up to 8' with 30-34 harvestable leaves per plant. It's best to use staking for this giant tobacco. The unique flavor is spicy and sweet and the smoke is fragrant and highly aromatic. Bursa is an excellent tobacco for a pipe or blending in cigarettes.

The Big Gem Tobacco is an heirloom Bright Leaf variety that has a great production of over 25 large, bright green leaves per plant. This tobacco variety reaches 5.5' or more in height and each leaf can reach 30" long and 18" wide. The Big Gem is drought tolerant and sunburn resistant.

Burley 9 is a high-yielding mid-season variety for air curing and drying. Leaves are light green, averaging 16" wide by 24" long. The leaves turn yellow as they ripen and dry to a light golden brown. It matures in 65 days. Burley 9 is drought resistant and resistant to disease. Nicotine content of 1.6%

Papante is a primitive variety that likely comes from southeastern area of the Mexican state of Sonora. A specimen is on display at the Conservation Center in Tucson, AZ. The plant's general appearance resembles that of both Little Dutch and Mountain Pima, though the leaf is a much darker green. It has been incorrectly listed and sold as Nicotiana rustica. Air-cures to a soft, light brown. Useful for cigarette, pipe blending and cigar filler. It’s relatively square secondary vein angle allows it to be used for cigar wrapper or binder. Days to Maturity: 52-60, Plant Height: 40-48 inches, Leaf Count: 19

Sylvestris is native to Argentina and is often called Woodland Tobacco. A good producer of leaves, but today is best known for its large trumpet shaped white flowers. The leaves have a nicotine content averaging 3.9%. Flowers appear on top of a 3-4 foot high stalk in 45-50 days, rising above the leaves and often form a cascading white waterfall effect. Sylvestris is a striking addition to any flower garden.

A bright leaf variety that was imported by the USDA from Columbia in 1967. A tall grower that reaches a height of 5-6'. Leaves grow close together with inverted cones. Produces a sweet mild flavor with a slightly nutty taste, and is an excellent cigarette or pipe tobacco. It can be used in a blend, or on its own. Costello has a nicotine content at 2.4%. The leaves air cure to a light brown to a dark reddish brown.
