How to Grow Peppers

The Petite Mix Bell is a blend of our favorite mini bell peppers that are a sweet flavor explosion! These tiny peppers ripens to a rich yellow, red and purple colors when mature. The Petite Mix Bell blend is high yielding and produces 2-3 ounce peppers that make the perfect snack sized pepper. This mix is excellent for market selling or home growing for adding into salads!

The Red Bhut Jolokia (Ghost Pepper) is among the world's hottest pepper! In 2006, the Guinness Book of Records confirmed that New Mexico State University had discovered the world's hottest chile pepper, the wrinkled, scarlet Bhut Jolokia. At 1,001,304 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), the Red Bhut Jolokia is nearly twice as hot as Red Savina, the Chile pepper variety it replaced as the world's hottest. In comparison, a New Mexico Green chile contains about 1,500 SHUs and an average jalapeno measures at about 10,000 SHUs. Use with caution.

The Beaver Dam Pepper is a delicious pepper that makes a great for stuffed peppers or adding to sandwiches. This pepper variety was brought from Hungary to Beaver Dam, Wisconsin in 1912 by the Joe Hussli family. Beaver Dam ripens from green to orange to red with just a touch of a tangy heat flavor!

The Long Red Slim Cayenne Pepper is a traditional medium heat cayenne pepper with a great flavor! This variety is a long and thin pepper that produces unbelievably high yields. These peppers will mature red and are wrinkled with a mixture of straight and curly fruits. Long Red Slim is excellent for drying, pickling and fresh eating to spice up your chili or salsa. This pepper plant is bushy and reaches 26" tall.

The Cayenne Long Red Thick Pepper is the biggest cayenne pepper you can grow! This variety's pepper grows to 5" long and 1/2" thick and are often curled and twisted. This pepper is great enjoyed fresh or dried for later use! The Cayenne Long Red Thick is a middle of the road hot pepper.

Thai Dragon pepper is an excellent pepper with a hot kick! These fruity fiery peppers are also known as "Thai Volcano" or “Facing Heaven”. This pepper is a heavy yielder and can produce over 200 peppers on steady branches. Peppers are 2-4" long, thing and slightly curved. When mature they turn red and are ready to harvest.

One of our favorite peppers! If you like sweet peppers with a slight spicy kick, then the Cajun Belle is for you! This variety is a great small bell pepper that is an All American Selection winner. Cajun Belle matures early and is a very heavy yielder that bears 2 by 3 inch, 3-4 lobed fruit. This pepper's flavor really sets it apart from the pack with a sweet start that ends in a burst of spice that's not too hot. We found this charmer to be superb for both fresh eating and making salsa at either the green stage, or when ripened to red!

Garden Salsa is the absolute best for salsa and sauces. Produces mild heat with a delicious zingy flavor. This hybrid was developed just for salsa to provide a medium-hot chile pepper that is delicious. Garden Salsa Hybrid scores 3,000 Scovilles on the heat index. Produces an abundance of long, skinny peppers that can reach to over 9" long.

The Orange Habanero Pepper is among the hottest peppers available! This Habanero variety speaks for itself as it is one of the most well known peppers for its hotness. The Orange Habanera will mature from a silvery green to a bright orange color.

The Pepperoncini Italian is a popular Italian pepper that is a favorite for pickling, cooking or eating fresh. This small bushy plant produces 3-5" wrinkly fruits that have thin walls and a sweet, mild heat. This variety is a delightful all-purpose pepper that can be enjoyed in numerous ways! Pick this pepper at the yellow-green stage for pickling or allow them to ripen greenish-red for eating raw or cooking! This is one of the lowest heat "hot" peppers that we offer, as it has a very slight heat with a more sweet flavor. When the Pepperoncini Italian is pickled, they become addicting!

The Sunbright Pepper is a delicious and crispy bell pepper for home gardens. This pepper variety is a beautiful bright yellow bell pepper, with nice yields of sweet peppers. This colorful pepper is delicious and it will add a lot of color to your salads! The Sunbright is also the perfect pepper for stuffing.

New Ace is a popular early variety for market growers and home gardeners. This is one of the earliest peppers to mature and has produces consistently good yields. Fruits contain 3 to 4 lobes with thick walls. Tangy, sweet and tender flesh. A good quality pepper for fresh market growers.

A sweet habanero that has no heat. Enjoy the flavor of habaneros without the heat! The world’s first truly heatless habanero! Bred by well-known organic plant breeder Michael Mazourek, Habanada is the product of natural breeding techniques. These exceptional snacking peppers have all of the fruity and floral notes of the habanero without any spice. Excellent choice for market farmers, chefs and home gardens.

Serrano is a hot, sweet pepper with a great taste! This pepper variety is a pungent pepper that can grow up to 4" long! These skinny peppers have medium thin walls that mature to a bright red color on thirty inch tall plants.

A wonderful mild chile with a sweet flavor and is larger and sweeter than the Poblano pepper. The mulato has been described as tasting somewhat like chocolate or licorice, with undertones of cherry and tobacco. Its heat rating is 2,500 to 3,000 on the Scoville scale. Dry these out to create the perfect mole sauce!

Sriracha pepper plants produce attractive, large, 5" x 1-1/4" dark green, chili-type fruits. Fruits are firm and uniform with shiny, smooth skin and thick walls. Flavor is mildly hot, but not overpowering. Perfect for slicing, roasting and pickling. Peppers have a long shelf life and can be harvested when red.

The Carolina Reaper is one of the hottest peppers in the world! This very hot pepper has a sweet chocolate-cherry under tone with hint of fiery citrus. The Guinness book of World Records has the Carolina Reaper at 1,569,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU). Use with caution, extremely hot!
