Urban Farmer cucumber varieties are trialed on our farm for flavor, yield, shape and disease resistance. We offer a wide selection of slicing, pickling, specialty and greenhouse specific cucumbers. These cucumber varieties will do well for home gardens and market growers.

The Lemon cucumber is very tender, clean, crisp and sweet taste that is never bitter! This variety is a great cucumber for salads and pickling. Don't be fooled by this heirloom's unusual shape, these bright yellow balls are excellent for salads and pickling! This plant produces regular-sized vines that yield heavily and for a long time.

The Sumter Cucumber is a favorite amongst many home gardeners and market growers for being a great slicer and pickling cucumber. This cucumber variety is a blocky medium-green fruit with white spines. The Sumter is well adapted for many different climates. This organic favorite is disease resistant.

The Ashley cucumber is great for hot Southern weather and has great downy mildew resistance! This variety was released by Clemson Agricultural in 1956 and produces very productive vines that produce 8", dark green cucumbers. Ashley is known to be a very good slicing variety!

The Double Yield cucumber is an excellent variety for gherkins and dills. The slender cucumbers are 5-6" long by 2" diameter and remains a dark-green color longer than most cucumbers. The Double Yield cucumber plant has high yields and a high percentage of sets producing two cucumbers at each leaf joint!

The Mexican Sour Gherkins cucumbers have been around since pre-Columbian times, but were not brought into botanical classification until the mid-1800s. Despite being a member of the Cucurbitaceae family, they're only distantly related to the cucumber and will not cross with other cucumber varieties. This variety is also said to be the most cold-tolerant of all cucumbers, and will continue to fruit until the first frost.

The Green Finger cucumber has nice green thin skin and an exceptional taste! This variety is a Beit Alpha type cucumber that has a small seed cavity. The Green Finger is best picked when it gets to be 4-6 inches in size. It also stores well. The Green Finger plant has very high yields as well with excellent disease resistance. It is a favorite for having few seeds and being a great slicer!

The compact Burpless Bush Slicer cucumber plant yields beautiful cucumbers that are perfect for slicing. This wonderful burpless bush cucumber variety is a smooth skin slicer that produces straight 10" x 1.5" cucumbers with dark green skin. These cucumbers have a small seed cavity and very smooth skin. The Burpless Bush Slicer is a favorite for being an excellent cucumber for slicing and eating fresh!

The Homemade Pickles is a trusted heirloom cucumber great for pickling at home. This variety is the most popular pickling cucumber raised by home gardeners and pickle lovers! The Homemade Pickles Cucumber, also known as the Southern Homemade Pickles Cucumber, is a very vigorous bush type plants and is very resistant to common cucumber diseases and produces a large abundance of wonderful little, medium green colored cucumbers. This variety produces over a long season and is ideal for container gardening or growing where space is very limited!

Boston Pickling cucumbers are a high yielding plant with a continuous harvest! Just like its name, the Boston Pickling is great for making pickles! This cucumber will grow to 3" long and smooth with black spines.

The Carolina cucumber is a very early, pickling cucumber variety. This variety is a white-spined cucumber that is best used for pickling, but is also a good fresh eater! This cucumber produces excellent fruit and bearing quality. The Carolina is known for having a low percentage of nubs and crooks.

The Amiga Beit Alpha is a great cucumber for markets as it is a good greenhouse cucumber variety! This variety is a refreshing cucumber that has a very sweet taste. When harvested small, the Amiga Beit Alpha can be eaten with skin as it is very delicate. This cucumber variety is very popular variety in different Mediterranean dishes and now becoming popular with Americans because of the fruits fine flavor and high yields. The Amiga Beit Alpha cucumbers are also burpless and have great shelf life.

These make delicious, crispy snacks that grow well in the greenhouse or garden. snack-sized, mini cucumbers that grow well in the field or greenhouse. High yielding mini-beit alpha plants are covered in small, uniform fruits that have very smooth skin and juicy, refreshing flesh. Harvest when fruit is finger sized.

The Muncher cucumber plant variety produces a smooth nearly spineless, medium green cucumber that is crisp and delicious. This low acid favorite is now available in organic seeds. The Muncher is mosaic resistant and produces heavy yields. The taste of this cucumber is non-bitter and very tender. It can be pickled when young or eaten fresh once it reaches 8-10 inches long.

Suyo Long cucumber is an old Burpless Asian heirloom variety and just like its name, is a very long cucumber! This cucumber can grow up to 15" long! The Suyo Long has an interesting look as it grows with a curl and has a sweet, crisp flavor. Eat the Suyo Long fresh or pickled!

The Straight Eight cucumber is a tip-top slicing cucumber and, like its name suggests, is perfectly straight! This Slicing Cucumber is a remarkably uniform cucumber that has a small seed cavity and crisp, fine-grained flesh. This variety is a heavy yielding cucumber and is an All-American selection in 1935. The Straight Eight is free from stippling and has a sweet and mild taste.

The White Wonder cucumber is a white cucumber with a fresh, crisp texture. This variety was introduced in 1893 and has since been a fun cucumber to grow in the garden. White Wonder looks great in salads to add that extra pop of color. This plant grows cucumbers to be about 6-8" long and 2-3" wide. The White Wonder is known for its great crisp texture that is perfect for fresh eating or tasty pickles!
