How to Grow Carrots

The Chantenay Red Core is a shorter, stump-shaped carrot that is broad at the top, but tapers into a stump root. It is a great choice to grow in average garden soil. This carrot variety stores well and can be used in all stages. Heavy yielding. Selected for its bright orange color and fine flavor.

Ingot (F1) is a long Nantes hybrid with both high color and flavor. It received highest marks for its “sweet flavor and texture” in a taste test. Ingot is an ideal choice for home garden and specialty. Produces high carotene levels of 120 – 170 ppm which lead to deep exterior orange color.

Bengala is a late maturing type of carrot. This variety has tall tops, healthy foliage, good taste, and long storability.

The Fancy Nantes carrot gets its name for its very smooth skin and fancy cylindrical shape. These carrots can grow up to 8" long with a very sweet and crisp flesh. For smaller, "fancier" look and great flavor try harvesting at 45-50 days when 4" long! They can store for months and also do great being left in the ground over winter.

Atomic Red carrots are rich in vitamins and minerals! Bright red root, tapered 1.5 x 11" long, super healthy high lycopene, crispy, intense color even when cooked. Atomic Red carrots are very healthy and unique-looking. The bright red is sure to add color to your garden. Atomic Red is especially high in the anti-oxidant lycopene, which is also found in tomatoes.
