Edamame is a type of soybean that comes from Japan and China. Edamame is harvested early and the beans are delicious straight from the pod! This treat is a popular side dish or appetizer before an oriental dish. Edamame is a fun and easy bean to grow in the home garden!

This high-producing variety delivers an extended harvest period on tall, upright plants that are both strong and vigorous. It sets large, well-filled pods—typically containing three seeds each—with excellent flavor, especially when steamed. Known for its impressive yields, it outperforms comparable varieties while maintaining strong resistance to lodging. An indeterminate bush type with light tan pubescence, it offers both reliability and outstanding garden performance.

Midori Giant is a traditional edamame variety that is eaten in oriental food. Midori Giant is an early maturing soybean with very large pods. Consistent heavy producer with over 90% two and three-seeded pods. Adaptable to all regions of the USA.

The Agate is an excellent tasting edamame heirloom with high yields. Agate was originally introduced to the U.S. from Japan in the 1920's. This variety produces high yields of small olive green seeds with brown saddles.
