Riddell's Goldenrod (Oligoneuron riddellii) is a distinctive North American native plant. Dense golden flower clusters brighten damp soils late in the season and provide seed for songbirds after bloom. It matures at approximately 36 inches tall and flowers from mid to late summer through early to mid fall. Plant it in full sun, in medium through wet conditions, with loamy soil, clay soil, wet soil or alkaline soil. Space plants 24–36 inches apart for healthy growth and airflow.

Pests & Diseases
Rust, powdery mildew, leaf spots, and aster yellows occur on goldenrod. Most foliar disease is cosmetic; cut infected stems after bloom. Remove entire plants with distorted green flower clusters because aster yellows persists systemically. Thin spreading colonies and control leafhoppers where the disease repeatedly appears.
Aphids and thrips may cluster on goldenrod buds, while mites, Japanese beetles, slugs, and caterpillars feed elsewhere. Remove badly damaged growth, collect visible pests, and choose pollinator-conscious controls only when monitoring shows a need.
