About Malus pumila, Apple Seed
Spring blossoms and crisp autumn fruit make Apple the classic backyard fruit tree. Malus pumila seedlings grow into rounded, spreading trees covered in fragrant pink and white flowers each spring. Because apples do not come true from seed, every seedling is a unique tree, which makes this seed ideal for growing hardy rootstocks for grafting, wildlife plantings, or the fun of discovering a new apple. This seed lot is collected mainly from Red Delicious fruit.

Tips
Pests & Diseases
Apple scab, fire blight and cedar-apple rust are common; plant in open, sunny sites with good air flow. Remove infected leaves and prune out blighted shoots.
Codling moth, aphids and apple maggot attack fruit and foliage. Deer and rabbits also browse young trees, so protect trunks with guards.
