This variety blooms beautiful yellow flowers that darken to a purple-red. This flower's leaves are divided into three lobes. Coreopsis may develop Botrytis, rust, powdery mildew, Rhizoctonia crown rot, or virus disease. Rust pustules and gray mold can be pruned away; mottled, distorted plants should be discarded rather than propagated. Avoid rich, wet soil, which creates soft growth and shortens the life of the crown.
Check coreopsis regularly for aphids, thrips, spider mites, Japanese beetles, slugs, and caterpillars. Inspect leaf undersides first, remove larger pests by hand, and avoid broad-spectrum sprays around open flowers.
