About Pacific, Dogwood Seed

Spring woodlands along the West Coast light up when Pacific Dogwood, the region's signature flowering tree, opens large, creamy white bracts around a button of tiny greenish flowers. Cornus nuttallii grows into a graceful small tree with layered branches, clusters of bright red-orange fruit in late summer and warm red fall color. It thrives in dappled shade under taller conifers and makes a lovely understory or specimen tree in mild, moist climates.
