About High Mountain, Native Grass Mix Seed
High Mountain Native Grass Mix brings together cool-season grasses suited to elevated western landscapes from about 8,200 to 12,000 feet. Fine and broader blades combine for a layered meadow with strong seasonal texture. The blend supports naturalistic plantings where short summers, cold winters, and exposed conditions challenge ordinary lawn grasses. It may be sown alone or integrated with high-elevation native flowers.

Tips
Pests & Diseases
Good airflow and appropriate spacing reduce most leaf-spot and rust problems. Avoid frequent evening irrigation that leaves foliage wet overnight. Native grasses growing in suitable soil rarely need fungicide treatment.
Young seed may attract birds and rodents, so firm soil contact and a light clean mulch can reduce losses. Inspect seedlings for grasshoppers, cutworms, or other chewing insects before damage spreads. Encourage predators and tolerate modest feeding in habitat plantings. Use targeted controls only after confirming the pest and a damaging population.
