About Drummond's, Aster Seed
Drummond's Aster (Symphyotrichum drummondii) is a distinctive North American native plant. Clouds of small pale flowers open late in the season, extending forage for bees and adding a soft texture to naturalized plantings. It matures at approximately 36 inches tall and flowers from mid to late summer through early to mid fall. Plant it in full sun to partial shade, in dry-medium to medium conditions, with loamy soil or sandy soil. Space plants 18–24 inches apart for healthy growth and airflow.

Pests & Diseases
Powdery mildew, Botrytis blight, rust, Verticillium wilt, and aster yellows are important aster diseases. Watch for white coating, gray mold, orange pustules, wilting, or yellow distorted flower growth. Space plants well, water at the base, remove infected debris, rotate planting areas, and promptly discard plants showing aster-yellows symptoms.
Aster leafhoppers can transmit incurable aster yellows; lace bugs stipple leaves, while aphids, thrips, and spider mites attack shoots and flowers. Remove plants with green, distorted blooms, manage nearby weeds, and inspect leaf undersides. Avoid spraying flowers visited by late-season pollinators.
