Growing seedless watermelons
Seedless (triploid) varieties make little viable pollen, so plant a seeded variety such as Ace, Sugar Baby or Crimson Sweet nearby, about one pollinizer for every three seedless plants. Seedless seed also germinates best warm: start it indoors at 85–90°F. Days are counted from direct seeding to first ripe fruit; a watermelon is ripe when the tendril nearest the fruit dries and the ground spot turns creamy yellow.

Disease Resistance Codes
Fruit sizes and flesh colors are typical values from breeders and seed trials; results vary with growing conditions. A dash (—) means no resistance is published for that variety.
