Grow cabbage in cool weather
Cabbage forms its best heads between about 60 and 70°F. Transplant early types in spring so they mature before summer heat, and grow main-season and storage types as a fall crop: light frost makes the heads sweeter. Even moisture keeps heads from splitting.
