Nemophila is most troubled by damping-off, Botrytis, powdery mildew, and root rot in warm, crowded conditions. Direct sow into well-drained soil, thin promptly, and remove gray-molded flowers before seed collection. Once cool-season plants collapse in heat, replace them rather than repeatedly watering declining crowns.
Nemophila can attract aphids, thrips, spider mites, Japanese beetles, and slugs. Scout flowers and new growth regularly, handpick when practical, and protect beneficial insects with targeted controls.
