A tall growing wheat that is great cover for game birds! Egyptian Wheat is a tall growing wheat that bears loose seed heads containing an abundance of seed. Egyptian Wheat is well suited for game birds, especially quail. Seed will mature approximately 110 days after emergence. Can grow up to 10 feet tall.
Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.): Cool season, Grain, Annual, Upright growth habit, Crude protein: straw 4-10%, grain 12-16%, C:N ratio: leaf 15-29, stem 31-65, root 24-75, straw 80-95 (end of season), Self pollinator, Very good at scavenging nitrogen from the soil.
Use: Erosion Control, Green Manure, Nitrogen Fixation, No Till, Weed Suppresion
