Nothing taste better than fresh tomato sauce using the tomatoes from your home garden. This recipe is an old time favorite that will be a crowd pleaser. One of the most simple but best tasting tomato sauces around!What You Need 6 med. tomatoes, peeled & chopped 1 large green onion, chopped 2 tbsp. minced parsley 2 tsp. red wine vinegar 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. sugar 2 tsp. fresh basil 1/8 tsp. pepper 1/4 c. olive oil 3 med. garlic, cloves, sliced 8 oz pkg. of spaghetti Boil tomatoes to remove skin Remove all seeds and chop tomatoes Boil these ingredients for 3 hours or longer! In a large pot begin boiling tomatoes, green onion, parsley, red wine, salt, sugar, basil, and pepper. Boil for 3 hours or longer depending on consistency.Use olive oil to brown garlic then combine with sauce. After starting to boil the main ingredients, place the garlic in a pan of hot olive oil. Brown garlic and then pour both olive oil and garlic into boiling sauce.Cook spaghetti noodles and pour sauce on top! About 30 minutes before serving: In 6 quart saucepan prepare spaghetti as label directs. Drain; return to saucepan; add tomato sauce. Heat mixture just until tomato sauce is hot. Makes 6 accompaniment servings. |
