Tom Thumb is a tennis ball sized Bibb type lettuce with great flavor. 
Slightly savoyed, Bright green slightly crumpled leaves with a sweet, delicate flavor, on compact heads. One head makes a salad for two. Beautiful in small pots, window boxes, hanging baskets and planted under trees. Dates to 1830's. - oldest American lettuce still grown. Very few offer this any more.
